Prayer is a foundation of fellowship in the body of Christ, the church. Act 2:42. It is a spiritual activity, enabled by the Holy Spirit, through which believers are joined to the ongoing conversation of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Rom 8:26-27. The Scriptures encourage the participation of Christian believers in three primary contexts for prayer – individual prayer, prayer as households, and corporate, or house to house, prayer.
Every Friday morning, across Toowoomba, folk gather, house to house, for prayer. These weekly prayer meetings are an opportunity to offer praise, worship and thanksgiving to God; seek the will of God as a community of believers; edify, exhort, and comfort one another; and speak together, by faith, through testimony.
Periodically, the presbytery will call the members of our church to pray and fast together. For example, at the beginning of each year, we pray and fast for three days, seeking the Lord for His word and direction for us as a community of believers.
